So, I bought my domain and server space back in June 2016, since I wanted to get hands-on experience with writing API calls for Android and learning backend development. Excited as I was for a teenager with his own website (which, was an empty welcome page for quite a while), I started reading and learning how stuff works around the Internet.
Slowly learning and developing my skill-set, I learnt that I can very easily start my own blog using WordPress and the likes. So I created a sub-domain, and then, there came the big question!
What to write about?
I started thinking what I could possibly write about. I am an Android Developer, maybe I should write about that. I am an engineering student at a private University in India, that could be a great topic! I like competitive programming, even though I’m maybe just a little above average at it, maybe writing about that will make me think more?
None of the maybes really got me excited about writing. There’s already so many great blogs about Android! And competitive programming is a hobby that re-surfaces every couple months for a few days! I really wanted to write a blog, but somehow, I never figured out what to write, or how to write! I discussed it with friends, who for the most part thought this as me trying to create “The perfect blog” and make money using Adverts. See, the thing is, this isn’t about the money, or to make a future employer read it and hire me for my efforts, This is about putting my thoughts out there. Somewhere along the way, the blog was put on the backseat and things went on.
Fast forward to February 2017, I bought Introduction to Algorithms, commonly called CLRS, after hearing praises about it from multiple sources! I had read that the book is too tough for beginners and one should already know a lot before trying to study it. That only came to me as a challenge! And I came to a conclusion.
I will write about my journey through CLRS!
So, dear reader, this was my Hello World. The start of a new thing. Keep an eye out as I post about Algorithms and Data Structures from CLRS and what I learn from it. Occasionally I’ll be posting a few other things, such as my take of that great new open source library, or maybe a rant about the mal-practices in the field.
Do stop by, and tell me your thoughts!
Thank you for reading !
